THE HUNT

A Southbound hunt is like no other.  We offer guided or unguided hunts - exclusively for your party - where you will experience nature at its purest.  Whether kicking up a covey of quail, or finding pheasant and chukars along a brushy fencerow, our meticulously maintained Virginian preserve is a sportsman's paradise.

Southbound is happy to provide licenses, ammunition, clothing, and even training for those who are experiencing the joy of sport hunting for the first time.  Our staff releases hundreds of birds all year long in addition to those you purchase specifically for your hunt, providing access to well oriented birds while assuring a productive hunt when hunting our vast preserve.

Southbound offers guided hunts with our highly trained dogs, but invites you to bring your own dogs for the hunt – offering guest kennels for all visiting dogs.  The preserve is proud to offer the "Southbound Pointing Dog Training Center" where preserve manager, Pat Casey, will educate visitors and their dogs with his 25+ years of hunting and training experience.

At Southbound, firearms safety comes first, followed by the enjoyment of our dogs, birds, horses and preserve.

Whether visitors to Southbound walk their hunt or take advantage of an ATV or Walking Horse, at the end of the day’s gratifying hunt our staff will make sure your birds are either prepared for you as part of that evening's succulent southern feast, or freshly cleaned and packaged for your trip home from paradise.
