Southbound...  the “Best little Shooting Preserve in Virginia”   Guided or unguided hunts over ideal cover.  Fast flying birds, great dog work, knowledgeable guides and friendly staff.  Whether you’re kicking up a covey of quail, or finding pheasant and chukars along a brushy fence row, our meticulously maintained Virginian preserve is a sportsman’s paradise.  The season runs from September 1st until April 30th and includes SUNDAYS!

Our staff releases hundreds of birds all year long in addition to those you purchase specifically for your hunt, providing access to well-oriented birds while assuring a productive hunt.  At Southbound, you’ll hunt over champion pointers and retrievers. If you’re new to Upland Bird Hunting, Southbound can help with licenses, ammunition, clothing, and even training.  The new VA Apprentice Hunting License let’s new hunters postpone the Hunter Ed requirement for up to 2 years so you can start hunting immediately.

Southbound offers guided hunts with our highly trained dogs or invites you to bring your own dogs and hunt on your own.  Pat Casey, our Preserve Manager is an expert with 25+ years of Wing Shooting, Guiding and Dog Training experience.
